Donate Plasma For Money

Did you know you can donate blood plasma for money, where your blood plasma will help treat and prevent life-threatening diseases, illnesses and conditions?

Yes, you can! Here's how...

What Is Blood Plasma?

Blood plasma is the clear, yellow colored liquid portion of blood that remains after red and white blood cells, platelets and other cellular components are removed.

It is made mostly of water and proteins. Blood plasma helps your body clot blood, fight infection and more. It can be easily, naturally restored by your body.

Why Do Companies Want Your Blood Plasma?

Plasma is an important ingredient in a number of plasma-derived medications that treat and prevent life-threatening diseases, illnesses and conditions.

Donating blood plasma helps:

  • burn, trauma and shock victims
  • organ transplant recipients
  • people with certain rare blood disorders
  • treat people whose bodies have trouble fighting infections

Plasma cannot be created in a laboratory or synthetically produced. That is why donors are required.

How Much Do You Get For Donating Plasma?

Compensation for donating blood plasma varies by the donation center, month-to-month, and special promotions.

You can earn up to $400 per month donating blood plasma.

Some centers offer special promotions that pay a bit extra per donation, so look out for those on the website. For example, Octapharma Plasma (http://c1ick.me/octapharmadonorpromo) had these promotions at the time of writing:

  • New donors earn $50 for each of their first 5 blood plasma donations, for a total of $250.
  • Select centers offer new donors up to $300 for a limited time.
  • Earn a bonus on your 6th, 7th, and 8th monthly donation:
    • 6th donation: $25 bonus
    • 7th: $20 bonus
    • 8th: $15 bonus
    • Select centers offer up to $30 for your 8th donation
  • Some blood plasma collection centers also pay you for referring new donors.
  • Earnings are typically paid by prepaid debit card after each donation.

How Is Blood Plasma Collected?

Donating blood plasma is similar to giving blood. A trained staff member puts a sterile needle into a vein in your arm. Your blood is drawn into a machine.

As your blood cycles through the machine, the clear plasma is separated from the other parts of your blood.

Your plasma is then collected in a container, while the red blood cells and other parts are safely returned to your body. This process is known as Plasmapheresis.

How Often Can You Donate Blood Plasma?

The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) state that a collection of blood plasma shall not occur less than 2 days apart, or more than twice in a 7-day period.

Is Donating Blood Plasma Safe?

Yes. Blood plasma donation centers must follow strict US FDA regulatory standards for plasma donation to ensure a clean, sterile environment, and the health and safety of donors.

Possible Blood Plasma Donation Side Effects

Donating blood plasma is a low-risk procedure, but side effects are possible, including:

  • tingling
  • nausea
  • Hypovolemia (decreased blood volume)
  • fainting
  • bruising
  • dehydration

Please consult your doctor or professional healthcare provider for all possible side effects.

  • if you have vCJD

Blood Plasma Health & Nutrition Tips

Health and nutrition tips:

Do:

  • Drink plenty of water or juice the night before and day of your donation.
  • Eat a healthy meal no more than 3 hours before giving blood plasma.

Avoid:

  • Eating fatty foods prior to donating blood plasma because it can give your plasma a milky appearance, which would rule you ineligible to donating plasma that day.

  • Drinking caffeine the day before and on the day of your donation.
  • Use tobacco for an hour before donating.
