Save Money Shopping With Daily Deals

What Is A Daily Deal?

Daily deals were all the rage when Groupon burst onto the scene in 2008 with offers of fantastic discounts of up to 80% or more, at local restaurants, spas, massage clinics, beauty salons, cafe's, etc.

The catch was that the daily deal would only be available for one day. It created an atmosphere of fear of missing out.

The discounts were often too good to pass by. Hence, a daily deal would attract hundreds, sometimes thousands, of customers.

The problem was that it soon dawned on many business owners that they couldn't handle the huge increase of customers. In addition, the promotions often didn't live up to the promise of generating new repeat customers. The promotions ended up costing businesses money.

The buzz around daily deals soon died down, and many daily deal sites went out of business. The daily deal sites that survived moved into offering other product categories, such as electronics, home and garden, etc., with deals typically lasting days, weeks, or even longer.
