Online teaching offer flexible part-time and full-time job opportunities for teachers, millennials, travelers, stay at home parents, and retirees, who enjoy the benefits of earning extra money, working wherever they want, whenever they want.

Teach English Online

In recent years a growing number of online English education platforms specializing in teaching English to Chinese students have entered the market.

They hire English speaking teachers, primarily based in North America, to teach English to K12 students in China, online in a 1-on-1 environment, all from the comfort of their home.

Tens of thousands of teachers in the United States and Canada are earning extra money to supplement their income, help pay off student loans, and save for vacations, new cars, etc.

Benefits of teaching English online include decent pay, typically $14 to $25 per hour, flexible hours, and rewarding work. Some online education platforms even take care of the curriculum and grading.

In case you're wondering, you do not need to be able to speak Chinese to teach English online to Chinese students.

You do however need a Bachelor's degree, or are currently enrolled in a university program.

It is recommended that you make yourself available for online English lessons during Beijing peak times, which translates to working evenings and early hours of the morning. That is the only real downside to teaching English online to Chinese students in China.

Some companies even run "Coaching Day" events, free of charge, across North America to train teacher candidates on ESL online teaching skills. This would be a great way to get into teaching English online if you don't have any experience.
