Free Tickets To 24 Top TV Show Tapings

Have you ever watched a TV show, like Ellen or America’s Got Talent, and thought it would be fun to be part of the studio audience?

If you have, did you know many TV shows give studio audience tickets for the tapings to anyone who asks for them, for free?

Yup! You can enjoy a few hours of fun without having to pay a dime for the tickets.

I will show you where to apply for free tickets to the top 24 TV show tapings in Los Angeles and New York.

Top 9 Studio Audience Tips

  1. Do not pay for tickets: TV show studio audience tickets are always free. Avoid websites that charge a fee for access. Do not buy tickets off another person because they are generally non- transferable. Click on the links in this website to ensure you only use official ticketing sites for free show taping tickets.
  2. Expect a taping to take several hours: The entire process, from waiting in line, being prepped for the show, and the actual taping of the show can take several hours or more. So be prepared. Go on a full stomach and go to the bathroom before you line up. You may not have a chance to eat or drink anything, or even go to the restroom during the entire time. If you are not prepared to wait around a lot, or if you have a weak bladder, you might not enjoy the experience.
  3. A ticket may not guarantee admission: TV shows often overbook audiences to ensure they get a full audience. Having a ticket may not guarantee admission, so arrive early to give you the best chance of getting a seat.
  4. Arrive really early for standby tickets: People write about arriving several hours, sometimes as many as 8 to 10 hours, before a popular show’s check-in time, to get standby tickets. So arrive as early as possible to give yourself the best chance of getting standby tickets.
  5. No food/drink allowed: Do not take food and drink with you, unless allowed. You are generally not allowed to take food and/or drink into a TV studio. Some do allow bottled water. Shows that do back-to-back tapings usually provide a break between tapings to use the restroom, eat and/or drink. Some provide free snacks and drinks.
  6. No bags, cameras or cellphones allowed: Some shows do not allow you to take in big bags, cameras or even cell phones. So make sure you read the terms and conditions of entry before you go. You may have to leave them in the car. Follow the dress code: Some shows have a more strict dress code than others. Follow it or you may be turned away.
  7. Take your photo ID: For security reasons, most shows require you to present a government-issued photo ID with your date of birth for entry.
  8. Dress warm: TV studios can get a bit cold so take along a sweater or jacket.

Where Are TV Shows Taped?

Many of the most popular TV shows are taped either in Los Angeles or New York. But there are shows taped in other cities as well, such as Boston, Chicago, and Miami.
